U.S. Companies Mull Participation in Competitions for Gas, Oil Prospecting in Black Sea

Houston/Sofia, May 8 (BTA) - Two U.S, gas and oil companies:
Hunt Oil Co. and Noble Energy, show serious interest in
participating in the competitions held by the Bulgarian
government for gas and oil prospecting in the Black Sea, it
emerged after meetings in Houston of Delyan Dobrev, Chairman of
the parliamentary Energy Committee, Bulgarian Deputy Energy
Minister Zhecho Stankov and Delyan Dimitrov of Bulgartransgaz
Management Board, GERB said in a press release Friday. The three
 Bulgarian officials are on a road show in the United States to
present possibilities for oil and natural gas prospecting and
extraction in the Black Sea before leading companies from the US
 and the world. The meetings with the representatives of Hunt
Oil Co. and Noble Energy took place at the Offshore Technology
Conference (OTC) 2015 in Houston between May 4 and 7.

The Bulgarian delegation familiarized the representatives of the
 two companies with the parameters of the two Black Sea blocks
open for prospecting, as well as with the procedure for
participating in the competition and for obtaining a permit for
prospecting and exploration.

In addition to Hunt Oil Co. and Noble Energy, ExxonMobil and
Anadarko too have express interest in prospecting in the Black
Sea.
