About 40,000 Passengers a Year to Use Sofia-Zurich Air Service

Sofia, May 14 (BTA) - About 40,000 passengers a year will book
the new Sofia-Zurich flights of Swiss International Air Lines,
said Transport, IT and Communications Minister Ivaylo Moskovski.
He attended the opening of the direct air service on Thursday.

Moskovski thanked Bulgaria's Ambassador to Switzerland and
Liechtenstein, Meglena Plougchieva, and Swiss Ambassador Denis
Knobel for their efforts to resume the service.

Moskovski stressed that Sofia Airport was keeping its upward
momentum. It handled 6 per cent more passengers and flights in
April than a year earlier, the Transport Ministry said. As the
number of passengers and flights is increasing, Sofia Airport is
developing its infrastructure. Construction of a new high-speed
taxiway will start this year.
