April Unemployment Rate Stands at  10.7%

Sofia, May 14 (BTA) - The unemployment rate in April dropped by
0.3 percentage points to 10.7 per cent. Compared to April of
2014, the unemployment rate has decreased significantly by 1.1
percentage points, the Employment Agency said in a Thursday
press release.

A total of 350,318 unemployed persons were registered in labour
offices in April of 2015, 11,193 fewer than in March. Compared
to a year earlier, there were 36,307 less unemployed persons
this April. More people are finding work in the real economy,
which continues the trend since the start of this year.
Subsidized employment is also on the rise compared to March.

A total of 27,102 unemployed persons started work in April of
this year, which is 6,377 more than in March. Of them, 22,046
found work on the primary labour market, which is 2,534 more
than the previous month. A total of 5,056 persons were included
in subsidized employment in April, which is 3,843 more than in
March.

Compared to last April, the number of newly employed has
decreased by around 3,200 due to the reduced subsidized
employment, part of schemes under OP Human Resources Development
and due to the ending in 2015 of the National Programme From
Welfare to Employment and Career Start. The number of those who
started work on the primary labour market has stayed the same.

Labour offices advertised 20,671 jobs in the real economy, which
is 901 more jobs than in March and 2,260 more than last April.
The most vacancies on the primary labour market come from
seasonal work.

A total of 1,329 jobs advertised in labour offices are under
employment programmes and 4,114 from schemes under OP Human
Resources Development.
