Lukoil's Leadership Presents Company's Investment Programme in Bulgaria to President Plevneliev

Sofia, May 19 (BTA) - President Rosen Plevneliev received on
Tuesday Lukoil's President Vagit Alekperov, who is paying a
visit to Bulgaria, Plevneliev's Press Secretariat said.

Lukoil's leadership familiarized Plevneliev with the company's
investment programme in Bulgaria and its development.

The occasion for the visit of Lukoil's representatives is the
opening of a new heavy residue process complex in Lukoil
Neftochim Burgas. The press release notes that Lukoil
representatives have met with Plevneliev in 2012 and 2014 to
present the parameters of the project, which will improve the
Bourgas-based oil refinery's efficiency.

Some 1.5 billion dollars have been invested in the facility's
construction, which is one of the largest recent foreign
investments in Bulgaria and is one-of-a-kind in Southeast
Europe.

Plevneliev has welcomed the use of innovative technologies in
the new facility, thanks to which the oil refinery's
competitiveness will be improved on the European market. The
Bulgarian head of State has also noted that the production will
meet the highest EU environmental standards.
