Former Bulgarian Ambassador to Moscow Issued with Travel Ban by Russia

Sofia, May 30 (BTA) - Former Bulgarian Ambassador to Moscow (2000 - 2006)
Iliyan Vassilev has been banned from entering Russia along with
another 88 EU citizens, the Foreign Ministry said.

On Friday afternoon Bulgaria's Embassy to Moscow notified the
Ministry about a list communicated by the EU delegation in
Moscow of 89 EU nationals who have banned from travelling to
Russia.

Russia has provided the list at the request of the EU following
an increasing number of cases where EU citizens have been denied
entry to Russia without prior information. Besides the names
Russia has not provided any motives for the ban. Bulgaria and EU
countries will seek clarification for each individual refusal.
