Ex-President Purvanov Visits Ramallah

Sofia, June 1 (BTA) - Former President Georgi Purvanov
(2002-2012), now leader of the ABV party, left on a visit to
Ramallah on Monday at the invitation of Palestinian President
Mahmoud Abbas, the party's press office said.

Besides Abbas, Purvanov will meet with Fatah's Commissioner for
International Relations Nabil Shaath, with Qais Abd al-Karim,
Deputy Secretary General of the Democratic Front for the
Liberation of Palestine, and Ahmed Majdalani, Secretary General
of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, who studied in
Bulgaria.

Purvanov will also meet with the leaders of the
Palestinian-Bulgarian Friendship Society.

In Tel Aviv, Purvanov and his delegation will meet with the
Israeli politician and Nobel Peace Prize-winner Shimon Peres,
who was President between 2007 and 2014. At the Knesset, the
delegation will meet with opposition leader Isaac Herzog and
Labor Party Secretary General Hilik Bar.

Purvanov's delegation is also scheduled to meet with
representatives of the Bulgarian community in Israel, the
Bulgaria-Israel Friendship Society and former Israeli
ambassadors to Bulgaria.

Meeting with the Palestinian leaders and the Israeli
politicians, Purvanov will discuss the situation in the region,
the development of the Middle East peace process, other
international issues, and the state and prospects of bilateral
relations.
