Parliament to Elect Central Bank Governor at Extraordinary Sitting Tuesday

Sofia, July 13 (BTA) - Parliament will elect the new Governor of
the Bulgarian National Bank (the country's central bank) at an
extraordinary sitting on Tuesday. There are four candidates to
the post. Bisser Manolov has been proposed by the parliamentary
group of the Reformist Bloc, Viktor Yotsov by ABV, Grigorii
Vazov by the Patriotic Front, and Dimiter Radev by GERB and the
Reformist Bloc.

The four were heard out by the Budget and Finance Committee in
Parliament last Thursday.

The election will be broadcast live via Parliament's website
www.parliament.bg. The vote will be open, using the computer
system in the debating chamber.

A candidate must receive more than half of the votes of those
present in order to be elected. If no one wins enough votes,
there will be a second round of voting contested by the two
highest-placed candidates of the first round. If no one is
elected in the second round either, Parliament will open another
 election procedure.
