Document Counterfeiting Group Disrupted

Sofia, August 1 (BTA) - Law enforcers uncovered an organized crime group producing and distributing counterfeit documents, the Interior Ministry reported on Saturday.

The enforcement operation was conducted in the northeastern towns of Silistra and Novi Pazar on July 29 by the Chief Directorate for Combating Organized Crime under the leadership of the Specialized Prosecution Office.

The officers arrested three persons with police records for past crimes. They seized counterfeit documents, equipment and materials for their production.

Pretrial proceedings were launched in the case under the supervision of the Specialized Prosecution Office.
