58 Afghanis, Iraqis Stopped by Police in Two Seaside Towns on Sunday

Bourgas, on the Black Sea,October 19 (BTA) - Police sources reported about three cases of stopped aliens in Bourgas and nearby Sozopol on Sunday. A total of 58 aliens were stopped. None had IDs.

The first 16, who identified themselves as Afghanis, were found in a derelict building after being left there by a 35-year-old Bulgarian driver with a criminal record. An investigation started against the driver for people smuggling and the aliens were taken to the Migration Unit of the Bourgas police.

Police stopped six cars near the Sozopol village of Rossen who carried a total of 32 aliens driven by Bulgarian drivers with criminal records. The foreigners identified themselves as Afghanis and had crossed illegally from Turkey. The drivers were detained and the aliens taken to the Migration Unit of the Bourgas police.

Another car was stopped in Bourgas carrying 10 people without IDs who identified themselves as Iraqis. They were abandones in the car by the driver who had left on foot.
