Voter Turnout Varies between 17% and 28% in Larger Cities by 13 Hrs

Sofia, October 25 (BTA) - Voter turnout at the local elections as at 1 pm ranged from 17 per cent to 28 per cent in the larger cities. In most settlements, the people, who also vote in the national referendum are by 2-3 per cent less (with the exception of the municipalities of Koprivshtitsa and Gorna Malina). Following are figures for the turnout in some of the larger settlements in this country:

Sofia Region: over 30 per cent: Koprivshtitsa (36.22 per cent in the local elections, 39.9 per cent in the referendum), Svoge (28 per cent and 22 per cent, respectively), Chelopech (48 per cent and 40 per cent, respectively), Gorna Malina (32.7 per cent and as many in the referendum), Dragoman (38 per cent and 30 per cent, respectively), etc.

Plovdiv Region - 17.43 per cent in the local elections and 15.33 per cent in the referendum (by 10 am).

Pazardjik Region - 21.75 per cent in the local elections and 17.75 per cent in the referendum.

Varna Region - 20 per cent for local government and 17 per cent in the referendum.

Bourgas Region - 22.58 per cent in the elections and 20.43 per cent in the referendum.

Pleven Region - 22.68 per cent in the elections and 20.2 per cent in the referendum.

Vratsa Region - 25.42 per cent in the local elections and 21.10 per cent in the referendum.

Veliko Turnovo - 25 per cent in the local elections and 21.25 per cent in the referendum.
