China's First Bulgarian Product Showroom to Be Unveiled in Shanghai

Blagoevgrad, Southwestern Bulgaria, April 12 (BTA) - The first Bulgarian product showroom in China will be unveiled in Shanghai on April 29, Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) President Luchezar Dinev told a news conference on Tuesday. Dinev attended the first meeting between the BCCCI and the business community in Blagoevgrad. The event was mottoed: "Doing successful business with China: Practical advice and opportunities for effective cooperation."

More Bulgarian showrooms will be opened in the Chinese cities of Nanjing, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Ningbo by the beginning of September, and then in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen by the end of the year. In addition to bringing revenues for the participating businesses, the project is also aimed to promote Bulgaria as a brand, Dinev said. The project is open to any Bulgarian companies wanting to gain a foothold on the Chinese market with goods and services that meet national and international standards.

The Shanghai store will initially offer foods, drinks, cosmetics and services in the field of tourism, education, administration, finance and investment. Dinev said this undertaking is the perfect platform for any company which wants to sell its products or services in China and to test the market in an easy and affordable way. The showroom in Shanghai will be in Touch Mall, a major shopping centre situated at the junction of three lines of the city's underground railway and visited by over 100,000 people every day.

Opportunities for business with China were presented to companies in Blagoevgrad Region during the meeting. The participants were familiarized with the specific features of the Chinese market and possibilities to establish efficient cooperation between Chinese and Bulgarian businesses, to certify and register trademarks in China and to access and operate on the Chinese market. They received practical advice and information about good practices, and learned about how to attract Chinese investors, export goods and take part in international exhibitions in China.

China is Bulgaria's number one trading partner in Asia, speakers said at the meeting. Bilateral trade is growing steadily, but its potential is much bigger than the current level.
