Association of Bulgarian Villages Launches Online Platform for Crime Prevention in Rural Areas

Sofia, April 15 (BTA) - The Association of Bulgarian Villages said it has launched https://agropolice.bg, the first-of-its-kind online platform for the prevention of crime and road traffic accidents in rural areas.

The concept also includes training modules and useful tips for people in rural areas.

The platform can handle alerts about fraud involving agricultural products, dangerous driving, fraud involving EU funds (including direct alerts to OLAF), corruption in the institutions concerned, theft of crops and farming machinery, and conventional crime. Another function of agropolice.bg is to recruit volunteers for an improvement of the security environment, road traffic and disaster management in various parts of the country.

The concept is based on proposals from hundreds of mayors and lieutenant mayors, farmers and entrepreneurs in villages, representatives of branch and public organisations.
