Bulgaria, China Sign Cooperation Agreement in Construction

Beijing/Sofia, June 28 (BTA) - Regional Development Minister Liliyana Pavlova and
Chen Zhenggao, Chinese Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, signed a cooperation agreement between the two ministries. Minister Pavlova said that the document will provide a good foundation for cooperation in several areas related to construction, as many Chinese companies show interest.

The document will strengthen and enhance bilateral relations with China and facilitate cooperation in public-private partnership, urban management and development, fight against illegal construction, seismic protection, energy efficiency and will enable partnerships between non-governmental organizations, professional associations, employer organizations, businesses and others.

The agreement takes into stock the existing potential of the two countries and the mutual interest of their institutions to develop and enhance bilateral relations.

Minister Pavlova also said that a memorandum of understanding will be signed between the Bulgarian Construction Chamber and China Communications Construction Company. It will enable cooperation between the two organizations so that they can apply together to participate in road and rail infrastructure projects.
