Five Arrested on Trakia Motorway for Human Trafficking
Bourgas, on the Black Sea, October 23 (BTA) - Five men aged between 19 and 43 have been arrested on Trakia Motorway for trafficking migrants, the Bourgas Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry said on Sunday.
Three motor cars, registered in the Yambol, Sliven and Haskovo regions, were halted on the motorway. A Plovdiv-plated truck was found on a hard shoulder, carrying 20 men and women and four children hidden behind timber. They all identified as Iraqi and Syrian nationals. A number of mobile phones and money in various currencies.
Two of the detainees are from Sliven. A synthetic drugs lab was found in a property where they lived in the Village of Mechkarevo. Precursors and other substances and materials used in making narcotics were seized.
