Sofia, November 17 (BTA) - Aleida Guevara March, the eldest daughter of Marxist revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara, visited Bulgaria's National Assembly on Friday for a meeting with the Bulgaria-Cuba Friendship Group. She was accompanied by the Cuban Ambassador in Sofia Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodriguez.

This is Aleida's third visit to Bulgaria. She was invited by the Bulgaria-Cuba Friendship Association to attend the Central and East European countries' Third International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, which will open in Sofia on Saturday.

"Bulgaria is something very special to me, when I come to your country the only thing that keeps me apart from people here and my Bulgarian friends is the language barrier," Che Guevara's daughter told journalists. She finds similarities between Bulgaria and Cuba but noted that people can learn from differences, too.

Aleida noted that one of the greatest honours that her father received was precisely from Bulgaria. A team of workers at a Bulgarian factory used to work for one more member: Che Guevara, he was on the payroll, and the wage earned in his name was remitted for solidarity with Cuba.

Guevara said she was glad to see her father's image on T-shirts, but she was even gladder that young people are aware of who he was. "Everything that is left of him now belongs to UNESCO, and his life and works have been added to the Memory of the World Register," she pointed out.

Che Guevara's daughter said that she will believe in her father's communist ideas until her last breath. "Capitalism has regained some space, but it is still unable to solve the problems of the larger part of mankind; therefore, we must keep looking for solutions, and socialism, is well organized and practised, can be one of the solutions," she commented.

Aleida said she feels a special woman because she is the daughter of two people who very much loved one another. She was born of Che Guevara's second marriage, to Cuban combatant Aleida March. "I am a fighter on both my father's and mother's side," the guest noted.
