Sofia, December 7 (BTA) - Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Vice Chairman Chen Yuan talked with Bulgarian National Assembly Chair Tsveta Karayancheva here on Thursday. They discussed the development and deepening of bilateral relations in the areas of infrastructure, science, technologies, culture, and tourism, Parliament's press service said.

Chen Yuan is in Bulgaria as head of a CPPCC delegation.

Karayancheva said that Bulgaria supports and actively participates in China's One Belt, One Road and 16+1 initiatives for cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC). Bulgaria will gladly host next year's meeting of heads of government of CEEC and China in the 16+ 1 format, she added.

Karayancheva also said that efforts are being made to facilitate the visa procedure for Chinese nationals wishing to visit Bulgaria as tourists.

The development of cooperation with CEEC is a priority for China, the guest said. "We rely on Bulgaria and expect its help in this, as well as in the achievement of an even more successful cooperation between China and the EU," he noted, as quoted by Parliament's press service. China wishes to have an even more active bilateral dialogue with Bulgaria in the areas of economy, culture, education,and science because this is in the interest of the two friendly peoples, Chen Yuan added.
