site.btaBulgaria Asks Romania to Take Steps to Deal with Long Wait at Border with Bulgaria

Sofia, March 6 (BTA) - Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov has called his Romanian counterpart Viorica Dancila asking her to make sure steps are taken to address the long wait for trucks to cross the border with Bulgaria at Rousse-Giurgiu, said the government press office. The Romanian government leader promised to check her country's system for entry and exit, and see what options there are for improving the organization of traffic across the border.

The two prime ministers also discussed the development of transport corridors in the region, including pan-EUropean corridors 4 and 9, the connection between ports, the Danube strategy. They agreed that these projects will bring more investment, direct business contacts and more jobs in the countries in this part of the continent.

Dancila invited Borissov to Romania for a joint government meeting. The two sides are already discussing tentative dates.

They noted the positive results achieved as a result of quadrilateral summit meetings of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Greece, and the Romanian Prime Minister said that the next meeting in this format, which her country is to hold, is already being organized.
