Sofia, April 24 (BTA) - At present, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry does not have information whether any Bulgarian nationals were hurt in Monday's incident in Toronto, Canada, where a van sped across sidewalks, killing 10 and injuring 16 pedestrians, the ministry said on its website on Tuesday.

The van's driver has been detained. Video footage from the time of his detention shows his provocative behaviour towards the police.

Bulgarian Consul General in Toronto Peter Kraychev immediately contacted the relevant authorities. Inquiries have been made and information has been exchanged also with the missions of the EU Member States in Toronto.

At present, the relevant Canadian authorities do not provide specific information but have committed to do so in case the incident concerns Bulgarian nationals in any way, the Foreign Ministry said.
