Pernik, Western Bulgaria, May 14 (BTA) - The government is considering the purchase of software for security camera systems to be used across the country, Interior Minister Valentin Radev said here Monday. He explained that the software will be under the Interior Ministry control and that the government will take care of its regular upgrading. "This is the expensive part of a video surveillance system," he said adding that the mayors will have to purchase the security cameras.

Radev was in Pernik for the unveiling of a local video surveillance system set in place with assistance from Stomana Industry and MTel.

He said that the security cameras will replace policemen.
