Sofia, August 6 (BTA) - The Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA), which manages air traffic for the whole country, handled a record 100,418 flights in July 2018, up by 11.51% compared with July 2017.

The total number included 14,249 flights to and from foreign airports (up by 7.10%), 1,711 domestic flights (up by 0.01%), and 84,458 overflights (up by 12.53%).

BULATSA also boasts another record this year. Bulgarian flight control officers took part in the servicing of one of the world's longest nonstop flights. It was from Perth, Australia to London, UK and lasted over 17 hours, covering a distance of more than 14,000 km. The flight was operated by Qantas. LI/VE
