Agreement Reached for Ending
Hunger Strike of
Postal Wokers

Sofia, August 11 (BTA) - The management of Bulgarian Posts EAD, representatives of the Zashtita Trade Union and National Ombudsman Maya Manolova reached an agreement on Friday on ending the hunger strike by employees in the Bulgarian Posts, the company said in a press release.

The management of Bulgarian Posts reiterated its commitment to provide food vouchers to its employees and additional pay for length of service as agreed. All other outstanding issues that triggered the strike are being discussed constructively, the press release says.

The strike was called over low wages, poor working conditions and lack of work clothes. The strikers had demanded a comprehensive financial audit at the national postal service company for the last five years. LY/ZH//
