Minister Kralev Confident
that Estoinia-Bulgaria-Austria Trio Will Achieve
Concrete Results in Youth Sector

Sofia, September 3 (BTA) - Bulgarian Youth and Sports Minister Krassen Kralev attended an informal meeting of EU youth ministers in Vienna on Monday. Addressing a ministerial roundtable during the meeting, Kralev said cooperation within the EU Presidency Trio of Estonia, Bulgaria and Austria has been very fruitful. "I believe that by the end of these 18 months of hard work, we will have achieved concrete results in the youth sector," he stated.

According to Kralev, it is particularly important for Bulgaria to see that the Erasmus+ Programme meets the expectations of all interested parties and keeps up its mission during the next EU programming period. He said: "This is one of the most important programmes in the field of education, youth and sports. As a matter of priority, we are holding negotiations at the national level in order to satisfy the needs of young people. We support the proposal to increase the youth segment budget of the new Erasmus Programme and we expect the increase to be tangible so that we can reaffirm our commitment to the future of Europe's young people."

During the Bulgarian EU Presidency, Sofia showed that it prioritizes youth empowerment and the provision of a good future for young Europeans, the minister said. He noted that Bulgaria was the first member state to set young people as a priority for the EU Council and the first one to complete a youth sector dossier, the one concerning the European Solidarity Corps.
