Set to Sign Memorandum of Understanding


Sofia, October 15 (BTA) - The Regional Development Ministry and the Macedonian Local Self-government Ministry are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, the Ministry said on Monday. The date will be specified later.

Regional Minister Petya Avramova and Macedonian Minister of Local Self-government Suheil Fazliu attended on Monday the unveiling of the renovated building of the regional administration in Blagoevgrad, Southwestern Bulgaria. The building has been renovated under a joint project 'Green Buildings for Common Green Future - Green' between the regional administration of Blagoevgrad and the Centre for Development of Macedonia's East Planning Region. The project has tapped nearly 400,000 euro under the Bulgaria-Macedonia Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020.

Minister Avramova commended the interest that the programme has generated in both countries. Under the first call for project proposals 48 contracts have been concluded, worth slightly over 10 million euro. The second call for project proposals will disburse nearly 7 million euro. RY/PP
