Abu Dhabi, October 22 (BTA special correspondent Hristo Vodenov) - On Monday during his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov visited the Dubai Police Command and Control Centre here.
At the Command Centre Borissov examined the vehicles, equipment and resources that the Dubai Police has at its disposal. The Centre is responsible for coordinating the 28 000 cameras spread across the city and has 80 on-duty police officers on its premises at any given time.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, demonstrated to Borissov the capabilities and assets of the Dubai authorities, while Borissov on his part provided information on the measures Bulgaria has taken to secure its borders in terms of both equipment and trained guards. He pointed out that just days ago, 341 new police jeeps were provided for the Bulgarian Border Police and that Bulgaria is in the process of planning a complete modernization of its Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology.
