November 3 (BTA) - 'The Interior
Ministry takes very seriously conventional crime, especially in
smaller settlements,' said Interior Minister Mladen Marinov on
Saturday in remarks to participants in the 7th Political Academy
of Women GERB. It is taking place on Saturday and Sunday in
Velingrad.

"Vehicle thefts have decreased by 12 per cent and clearance rate
has increased by two percentage points between January and
September of 2018 and 2017 respectively. Road fatalities have
dropped by 7.4 per cent," said Marinov.

The Minister also said that Bulgaria has non-EU members and
because of that it can't use all security mechanisms. According
to Marinov, compared with Greece, Italy and Malta, Bulgaria has
been controlling the flux of migrants. "The border fence did its
job and migration pressure is minimal," he added. RY/PP
