Association of Small and Medium-sized Exporters
Reports Increased Exports
to Germany

Sofia, May 27 (BTA) - Export volumes to Germany have increased but imports are still larger, a market research of the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Exporters shows. The research, focused on machine-building and the production of spare parts under Operational Programme Innovations and Competitiveness, was presented at the BTA Press Club on Monday by the cluster's CEO Dobromir Dobrev.

The cluster includes 18 SMEs and family export-oriented companies operating in the field of machine-building parts. Their main problem is precisely the fact that they are too small and do not have sufficient administrative capacity. Their participation in the cluster has helped them get new contracts.

Dobrev explained that they can become part of the supplier chain with their partners. Association Board member Denitsa Nikolova added that their participation in major European fairs has resulted in new partnerships.

In the future, the cluster will aim to participate in sister networks, enabling Bulgarian SMEs to become part of the European supply networks, Nikolova said./IG/BR
