site.btaJapan Lifts Ban on Bulgarian Chicken

October 18 (BTA) - Japan has lifted a ban on the import
of chicken from Bulgaria, said the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency
Friday. The ban is scrapped as of October 18.

The ban has been in place since the end of 2017 in the wake of a
bird flu outbreak in Bulgaria. Once the epizootic situation in
this country improved, the Food Safety Agency started the
established procedure for lifting the restrictions.

Bulgaria was formally notified of Japan's decision by the
Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. LN/RY
