Football Union Executive Board
and National Team Manager Resign

Sofia, October 18 (BTA) - The members of the Executive Board of the Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) resigned en masse amid a racism scandal following a Bulgaria-England Euro 2020 qualifier in Sofia last Monday. The manager of the national football tean, Krassimir Balakov, also resigned.

The Executive Board members followed in the steps of BFU's long-serving President Borislav Mihaylov who stepped down under pressure from Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.

Mihail Kassabov will be acting BFU President until a new congress is held to elect leadership. LN/RY
