site.btaUS State Department Highly Appreciates Bulgaria's Efforts for Eastern European Security

November 20 (BTA) - The official US State Department
blog, DipNote, praises Bulgaria as "an ally America can count
on," according to a press release from the US Embassy in Sofia.

The announcement pointed out that Bulgaria's efforts to
modernize its army, as well as its projected increase in defense
 spending to 2 per cent of GDP by 2024, testify to Bulgaria's
willingness to work in partnership with the US to improve
security in Eastern Europe.

The embassy also notes that over the past 25 years, the United
States has provided more than 340 million dollars in security.
