December 16 (BTA) - Deputy Prime Miister and Foreign
Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva conferred with Kazakh Foreign
Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi on the sidelines of the 14th
Europe-Asia Foreign Ministers Meeting in Madrid, her ministry
said.

Minister Zaharieva hailed the decision of the government of
Kazakhstan to open an embassy in Bulgaria and added that
Kazakhstan is a traditional partenr of Bulgaria in Central Asia.
 On Monday Kazakhstan marks its national holiday.

For his part Kazakh Foreign Minister Tleuberdi said he had
accepted an invitation to visit Bulgaria next year when nine
draft bilateral agreements can be signed. He added that on
Monday Kazakhstan's ambassador to Bulgaria had presented his
credentials.

Zaharieva invited the Kazakh economy minister to visit together
with a business delegation Sofia for the next meeting of an
intergovernmental commission for economic, scientific and
technical cooperation.

According to Bulgarian data, in 2018 two-way trade totalled
nearly 35 million US dollars, down by 19 per cent from 2017. The
 foreign trade balance was positive for Bulgaria in 2017 and
