Four Major Rolling Stock Manufacturers
Apply to Supply New Locomotives
for Bulgarian Railways
Sofia, December 19 (BTA) - Bombardier Transportation GmbH, the Siemens Tron Civil-Law Company, the Excelor-E.L. Consortium and Stadler Rail Valencia S.A.U. are the four candidates that have applied for entry into a procedure for the supply and warranty maintenance of ten newly manufactured main-line electric locomotives for the needs of BDZ Passenger Services EOOD, Holding BDZ EAD said in a press release on Thursday.
The estimated cost of the procurement is 57,501,402 leva before VAT. An examination of the documents submitted by the applying candidates will be followed by the submission of technical and price tenders.
The procurement is planned for completion by the end of March 2020, and the first new locomotives are to be delivered within 18 months after the signing of the contract. RY/LG
