site.btaBulgarians Allowed to Travel Between Cities and Regions as of May 6 in New Step of Relaxing Coronavirus Restrictions

May 5 (BTA) - As of May 6, the checkpoints set up by the
Interior Ministry at the entry and exit points of large cities
as part of the coronavirus restrictions, will be removed and
Bulgarians will be able to travel between cities and regions
again, the Health Ministry said Tuesday. The Health Minister has
 also ordered lifting the more rigorous restrictions for moving
in and out of Sofia.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulgaria was 1,704 as
of 5 p.m. on Tuesday, according to figures of the national
coronavirus task force. Fifteen new cases were registered during
 the day.

Infected healthcare workers total 182, five of whom tested
positive on Tuesday.

The total number of fatalities stands at 80, with two new
registered during the day.

On Tuesday morning,  the national coronavirus task force
reported 57 new cases registered in the past 24 hours. In that
period, there were four fatalities and 21 recoveries, bringing
the total number of recovered COVID-19 patients to 342.
