site.bta816 New COVID-19 Cases out of 2,716 PCR Tests Confirmed in 24 Hours

Sofia, November 16 (BTA) - A total of 816 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed through 2,716 PCR tests in the 24 hours before Monday, bringing the total number of reported infections so far to 98,251, show data posted on coronavirus.bg.

There are a total of 66,746 active COVID-19 cases. The number of reported hospitalized COVID-19 patients is 5,257, of whom 293 are in intensive care.

Thirty-nine fatalities of people with confirmed coronavirus infections were reported in the 24 hours until Monday, bringing the total death toll to 2,130. A total of 540 people have recovered meanwhile, bringing the total number of recoveries from the disease to 29,375.

The number of confirmed infections among medical staff is 3,882, which includes 1,403 doctors and 1,234 nurses.

The highest number of new infections are reported in Sofia city (193), followed by the region of Bourgas (81), Varna (64) and Kyustendil (64). The capital has the highest number of confirmed infections so far at 32,485, followed by the second largest city of Plovdiv with 8,780, Varna - 6,137 and Blagoevrgad - 6,085. MY
