COVID Update: 577 New Cases in Bulgaria Monday, 40% Positivity Rate

Sofia, December 7 (BTA) - A total of 577 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed based on 1,424 PCR tests done in the 24 hours until midnight on Monday, according to the national coronavirus information platform. It makes a positivity rate of 40 per cent.


There are 94,378 active cases and total infections have exceeded 160,000 since the start of the epidemic.

In the past 24 hours the number of recoveries exceeded threefold the number of new infections.

A total of 1,573 patients recovered, bringing the total to 62,246.

There were 68 fatalities, bringing the total death toll to 4,797.

A total of 7,000 patients have been hospitalized, with 41 new admissions in the past 24 hours. The number of intensive care patients remained unchanged at 516. LN/PP
