site.bta5,298 PCR Tests Confirm 2,095 New COVID-19 Cases, Bringing Bulgaria's Total to 181,544

Sofia, December 15 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 181,544 after 5,298 PCR tests
identified 2,095 new infections in the 24 hours until Monday
midnight, according to data posted on www.coronavirus.bg. The
test positivity rate now stands at 39.54 per cent.

Sofia City Region tops the list of new cases with 312 positive
tests, followed by Plovdiv Region with 273, Varna Region with
156, and Stara Zagora Region with 152.

A total of 1,069,756 PCR tests have been performed since the
first infections were diagnosed on March 8.

The active cases are 90,128. The infected medical staff now
totals 7,919.

Currently, the hospitalized patients number 7,045, including 580
 in intensive care.

Another 1,858 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 85,578.

One hundred and fifty more fatalities were reported, and the
death toll now totals 5,838. NV/LG
