233 New Cases

Sofia, January 17 (BTA) - A total of 233 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the 24 hours until Saturday midnight, 319 fewer from a day earlier, according to data posted on the national coronavirus portal. A total of 4,628 tests were done.

This makes a test positivity rate of 5 per cent.

The new cases bring the total number of COVID-19 infections to 211,736 since the start of the pandemic.

In the past 24 hours there were 17 fatalities, bringing the total death toll to 8,474.
Some 3,485 patients have been hospitalized, with 340 in intensive care,

With 294 recoveries in the past 24 hours, the total is 156,326. LN/PP
