site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 227 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at 8%

Sofia, February 22 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 236,666 after 2,792 tests identified
227 new infections on Sunday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/. The test positivity rate now stands at
8.13 per cent.

Sofia Region tops the list of new cases with 77 positive tests,
followed by Bourgas with 34 cases and Varna with 28.

The active cases are 26,560. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 3,880, including 321 in intensive care.

The confirmed infections among medical staff total 9,993,
including 3,194 doctors and 3,286 nurses.

Another 114 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 200,252.

Fifteen fatalities were reported, and the death toll now adds up
 to 9,854.

With 10,998 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, 119,354
persons in aggregate have been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 26,973 have received both doses. NV/DD
