site.btaCOVID-19 Update: 1,800 New Cases, Test Positivity Rate at Close to 14%

Sofia, February 24 (BTA) - The number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in Bulgaria reached 240,391 after 13,026 tests identified
1,800 new infections on Tuesday, according to data posted on
https://coronavirus.bg/ on Wednesday. The test positivity rate
now stands at 13.82 per cent.

Sofia tops the list of new cases with 496 positive tests,
followed by Plovdiv with 181 cases and Burgas with 154.

The active cases are 28,913. Currently, the hospitalized
patients number 4,037, including 349 in intensive care.

Another 471 COVID-19 patients have recovered over the last 24
hours, bringing the total to 201,500.

Forty-five fatalities were reported on Tuesday and the death
toll now adds up to 9,978.

With 17,163 new inoculations over the last 24 hours, a total of
148,226 people in aggregate have been vaccinated against the
coronavirus, of whom 29,677 have received both doses. NV/DD
