Sofia, August 12 (BTA) - The Central Elections Commission (CEC) Tuesday started to accept documents of parties and coalitions taking part in the October 5 early parliamentary elections. The deadline for submittal of the documents is 6 pm on August 20.
The right-wing GERB party kept its tradition to be the first to submit documents for running in the elections. Chairman of the party's election campaign HQs Tsvetan Tsvetanov said that GERB's ambition at the October 5 elections is "victory, with more than 121 seats". Bulgaria's Parliament has 240 seats.
Tsvetanov said GERB's lists of candidates will be ready by the last week of August. Some of GERB's runners in the election will top lists in two constituencies, he said.
Tsvetanov said also that even if GERB has overwhelming majority in the new Parliament, the party will encourage dialogue with other parties in the right-centre spectrum for reaching consensus on key national priorities "and strong right-centrist governance with GERB leader Boyko Borissov as prime minister".
