site.btaDigital Exhibition “Ukraine: Love + War” to Present Over 700 Photos of Russian War Crimes in Ukraine

More than 700 photos documenting violence and war crimes committed by Russia in Ukraine will be presented in the first-of-its-kind digital exhibition "Ukraine: Love + War". The initiative is organized by the FotoEvidence international photojournalism organization and will take place simultaneously in Sofia and Kyiv from June 12 to 15, the organizers said on Thursday.
For the first time, 149 photojournalists from 29 countries will join forces to present firsthand visual evidence of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Digital displays will be installed at key locations in Sofia and Kyiv that will show images from the war for 72 hours. A separate dark room will be set up for the most disturbing content, with voluntary access.
The exhibition is inspired by the books Ukraine: A War Crime and Ukraine: Love + War (2014–2024), published by FotoEvidence with the support of the Open Society Foundation Western Balkans.
In Sofia, the exhibition will be located in front of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, covering an area of nearly 150 sq m. Three digital screens, each measuring 3.5 by 2 metres, will display the images. The project is curated by FotoEvidence Director Svetlana Bachevanova. Bulgarian actors Vladimir Karamazov and Aleksandar Aleksiev are the public faces of the campaign.
