President Plevneliev
to Pay Visit
to USA


Sofia, September 20 (BTA) - Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev
will pay a working visit to USA in connection with the 69th
session of the UN General Assembly from September 22 to 26, the
President's Press Secretariat said.

On September 22, Plevneliev will take part in a meeting of the
heads of State participating in the Clinton Global Initiative.

Later in the day he will meet representatives of the Bulgarian
community in USA at Bulgaria's General Consulate in New York.

On September 23 the Bulgarian President will make a statement in
the course of the UN Climate Summit 2014 at the UN Headquarters
in New York.

Also in New York, he will have a meeting with representatives of
Jewish organizations in USA.

On September 24, the President will attend the opening of the
69th session of the UN General Assembly which will focus on
post-2015 development agenda.

Later in the day the UN Security Council will have a meeting
dedicated on the international efforts on fighting terrorism
that will be presided over by US President Barack Obama.

An event, Quality Education for the World We Want, of UNESCO
within the Global Education First Initiative will be held under
the presidency of UNESCO Secretary General Irina Bokova.

On September 25, President Plevneliev will deliver an address at
the General Assembly at 23.30 hrs Bulgarian time.

On September 26 the head of State will have a working meeting
with representatives of US companies organized by the Business
Council for International Understanding and will familiarize
them with the possibilities to invest in Bulgaria. He will
confer with managers of Comcast Corporation/NBC Universal and
representatives of AES Corporation.

In the sidelines of the visit, President Plevneliev with have a
number of bilateral meetings with counterparts, including the
presidents of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, of Egypt Abdelfattah
Said Elsisi, of Colombia Juan Manuel Santos Calderon and UNICEF
Executive Director Anthony Lake. /LN/TK/
