Sofia, September 27 (BTA) - The Sofia police detained 70 foreign
nationals suspected of residing illegally in Bulgaria during
two operations on Saturday.

At 9:30 am the police received an alert about a group of men,
women and children in the area of Severen park. The police teams
dispatched to the location detained 24 men, 2 women and 4
children, all of them foreign nationals whose identity and
origin are about to be established, the Interior Ministry said
in a press release.

In another operation, a police team found 40 foreign nationals
after checking an address in Sofia's Vrazhdebna residential
area: 33 men, 6 women and one child.

The Sofia police continues to work on establishing the facts and
circumstances of the two cases. The competent institutions will
take measures concerning the detained foreign nationals.
