Thirteen Bulgarians Apply for
Judge Position at European Court
of Human Rights
Sofia, September 30 (BTA) - There are thirteen candidates from
Bulgaria who have applied for the position of a judge at the
European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg, the
Justice Ministry said. The deadline for applications was 5 pm on
Monday.
The Bulgarian candidates who will participate in the procedure
are: Ana Georgieva Milenkova, Angel Georgiev Anastasov, Viktor
Yosifov Soloveychik, Georgi Angelov Kerelov, Georgi Tsvetanov
Lekov, Iliyana Todorova Baltova, Iskra Todorova Alexandrova,
Yonko Miladinov Grozev, Dr Katerina Borislavova Yoncheva, Maya
Petrova Rousseva, Nikolai Enchev Enchev, Plamen Evgeniev
Borissov, and Tanya Zhelyazkova Koutsarova-Hristova.
An ECtHR commission will review the candidates' applications and
determine whether their documents meet the necessary criteria.
The non-selected candidates can appeal the commission's
decision within three days of the announcement of the candidate
list.
The procedure for the election of a ECtHR judge will start on
October 7 with a language test, followed by an interview with
the candidates on October 8, the Justice Ministry explained.
