United States - EU Transatlantic Trade Partnership Threatens Food Security,Environment, Civil Rights,
Civil Associations Say

Sofia, April 8 (BTA) - The Transatlantic Trade and Investment
Partnership (TTIP) between the European Union and the United
States is a threat to food security, the environment and civil
rights, representatives of four civil organisations, including
For the Earth, told a news conference hosted by BTA Wednesday.

The organisations also said they are organizing a series of
events related to TTIP.

After Copenhagen, Budapest, Dresden, Stuttgart, Brussels and
Berlin, among others, an eight-meter Trojan Horse symbolizing
the protests will be displayed in the centre of Sofia.

Sofia is also hosting another international event, focused on
the consequences of TTIP for Southeast European countries,
including employment policies, environment, foods, settlement of
disputes between investors and state and regulatory
cooperation.
