Patriarch Neofit Makes Blessings during Easter Service in Sofia

Sofia, April 12 (BTA) - Bulgaria's Patriarch Neofit pronounced
blessings for peaceful and bright paschal days during the Easter
service at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in the night of
Saturday to Sunday.

Attending the service was President Rossen Plevneliev.

Earlier in the day the Holy Fire was brought to Bulgaria from
Jerusalem by a delegation of church dignitaries and state
officials, headed by Metropolitan of Lovech Gavriil.

On Saturday, in an address to the nation on Easter Saturday,
Patriarch Neofit said that faith is essential for the well-being
of society.

"In our difficult and troubled times of insecurity and conflict,
faith alone can reinforce our patience and give us strength
and wisdom to overcome the challenges of living; faith alone
can bring peace to our hearts and concord to our society,
reconcile the warring, unite the divided, and lead the mistaken
back to truth," Neofit said.

Offering blessings ahead of Easter, he greeted all believers and
all good-willing people and wished that the light of the
Resurrection of Christ may shine upon everyone.

"May our Saviour fill our souls with firm determination to find
good and become stronger in faith, hope and love! Christ is
risen!" the Patriarch exclaimed.
