NDK National Book Centre to Cooperate
with Centre Pompidou to
Present Bulgarian Authors' Books


Paris/Sofia, April 17 (BTA) - The Director of the National
Palace of Culture (NDK), Miroslav Borshosh, met in Paris with
Christine Carrier, Director of the Public Information Library -
Pompidou Centre, one of the most modern libraries in Europe, NDK
said on Friday.

Borshosh acquainted Carrier with the work of the
newly-established National Book Centre at NDK and the
opportunities it provides for translation and publishing abroad
to authors and publishing houses.

The sides agreed that works of Bulgarian authors translated into
French will be available to readers in the French capital as
soon as possible.

The Director of the French Institute in Bulgaria, Guillaume
Robert, also participated in the meeting.

Established in 1977 on the initiative of French President
Georges Pompidou, the centre recorded over 5.2 million visitors
in 2013 and ranks third in this respect after the Louvre and the
Eiffel Tower. It houses the Public Information Library, the
Musee National d'Art Moderne, which is the largest museum for
modern art in Europe, and IRCAM, a centre for music and acoustic
