Deputy Prime Minister for European Policy and Institutional
Affairs Meglena Kuneva Saturday said, quoted by her Bulgaria for
the Citizens Movement, that Schengen is Bulgaria's next big
accession. She was speaking at a solemn ceremony marking the
10th anniversary of Bulgaria's signature of the Treaty of
Accession to the EU, attended by representatives of the
Government and the National Assembly, ambassadors of EU Member
States to Bulgaria, members of the teams involved in the
accession process, and former prime ministers and National
Assembly chairs. "Today Bulgaria has the experience of 10 years
of full EU membership and this is why it is important to finish
our next accession," Kuneva noted.

In her address, the Deputy PM put an emphasis on Bulgaria's next
actions concerning the deepening of the EU integration, and
outlined as key priorities the entry in Schengen and the euro
zone, the participation in the creation of a European energy and
banking union, as well as the establishment of a European
Public Prosecutor's Office.
