PM Borissov Expects Customs Revenues to Top Lv 1.5 Bln

Svilengrad, Southern Bulgaria, April 26 (BTA) - Prime Minister
Boyko Borissov told journalists here on Sunday that he expected
more than 1.5 billion leva in Customs revenues. He said measures
put in place in the border and Customs services should increase
revenues.

The Customs Agency is doing a better job and is bringing in
larger revenues. "I check the revenues every Wednesday so I know
if Customs officers have been doing a good job or not," he
said.

Commenting on expectations for a larger flow of refugees,
Borissov said Bulgaria should tighten border controls and crack
down on human traffickers. The armed forces will lend a hand,
and construction of the obstacle along the border will continue.
This is not a fence but "a small protective obstacle", which
will also stop wild animals and will curb the spread of disease
among animals.

Borissov said that the Maritsa Motorway and the high-speed
railway to Svilengrad will be completed this year if the weather
is fine.

Borissov, Environment and Water Minister Ivelina Vassileva,
Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski and Svilengrad Mayor Georgi
Manolov opened a waste water treatment facility worth over 48
million leva. It was built with financial support from
Operational Programme Environment 2007-2013.
