for Holiday and
Recreation Purposes Down YoY


Sofia, April 27 (BTA) - In March 2015, the arrivals of foreign
visitors to Bulgaria totalled 370,500, 2.6 per cent more than in
March 2014. An increase was registered in business trips and
trips for other purposes by 23.1 per cent and 9.5 per cent,
respectively, while trips for holiday and recreation purposes
fell 11.8 per cent, the National Statistical Institute said on
Monday.

In March 2015, Bulgarians made 318,300 trips abroad, up 1.6 per
cent on a year earlier. Compared with March 2014, an increase
was registered in trips for other purposes and business trips by
14.0 per cent and 8.2 per cent, respectively, while trips for
holiday and recreation purposes decreased by 23.6 per cent.

ЕU citizens' visits accounted for 45.9 per cent of all
foreigners' visits to Bulgaria in March 2015, 1.0 per cent more
than a year earlier. Visits by foreigners from other European
countries increased by 2.3 per cent. The largest increase, 9.9
per cent, was registered for Turkish citizens.

In March 2015, visits for others purposes (including as guest
and passing transit) accounted for 42.0 per cent of the total
number of visits, followed by holiday and recreation purposes
(37.2 per cent) and business trips (20.8 per cent).

Respectively, 93.2 per cent and 81.3 per cent of visits from
Israel and Macedonia were for holiday and recreation purposes.
