Agriculture Minister Taneva Meets Israeli Counterpart
Tel Aviv/Sofia, April 28 (BTA) - Meeting on Tuesday, Agriculture
and Foods Minister Dessislava Taneva and her Israeli
counterpart Yair Shamir discussed opening the Israeli market to
Bulgarian meat and livestock imports.
Minister Taneva said that Bulgaria's aim is for this to happen
shortly. "Our country has traditionally good relations with
Israel and we want to advance them further to importing
Bulgarian produce," she said.
For his part, Minister Shamir said that Bulgarian brined cheese
is sold in Israel.
The two discussed the training of young Bulgarian farmers in
Israel. Taneva stressed the importance of the exchange of good
practices particularly in the field of irrigation systems.
"Israel is one of the countries where Bulgaria can tap the best
possible experience," said Taneva.
